Kendall is growing like a weed!

Kendall and I went to the pediatrician yesterday for her 1 month checkup. She is measuring in the 90th percentile for her weight at 10 lbs, 11 oz and 21.5 inches long! The doc says she looks great. We ended up not having to get immunized, because the office just went to a combination vac that is given at 2 months -- yay! We started with tummy time today -- she usually prefers to be on her tummy, but this morning was not the case. I think she was tired and ready to go back to sleep - she was very fussy, but instantly fell asleep when I picked her up and rocked her. We'll try again later.

Poor Kendall...

My sweet baby has a doctor appointment today for her 1 month shots and checkup. She has no idea what is coming....poor thing. Hopefully, she won't have any issues and won't be fussy. I am definitely having more anxiety about than she is -- here it is 5:30 in the morning and I can't sleep. She's sleeping like a -- well, baby.

FYI

Just so you all know, a follow up from last night's blog -- Kendall slept much better last night, and so did I! She and I slept in 3.5-4 hour increments...it was wonderful! Let's keep our fingers crossed that she keeps it up!
I am so jealous of Yolanda, my sister in law - Kendall's cousin, Patrick, who is 2 months old today is sleeping through the night - how great is that?!?

Kendall is 1 month old this week!

So, today, we went and had 1 month portraits taken - it was exhausting! Overall, Kendall did great! We even got a smile out of her! This past couple of days has been rough - Kendall is trying to revert back to night shift ways. She had been doing so great, sleeping about 4 hours at a time through the night and going to sleep very easily. The last few nights, she has been going to bed very easily around 10 pm and then at midnight, waking up and staying up until around 5 am, and then going back to sleep and for 4 or 5 hours. We will see what tonight brings, she slept for the majority of the day, and then went to bed very easily for me about an hour ago.

2 week doctor visit

Kendall had her 2 week checkup at the pediatrician's office. Everything is going wonderfully - Kendall is now 8 lbs, 14 oz - she's gained a whopping 20 oz since the last appointment, just 10 days ago.
Also, Yolanda (my sister in law) and Patrick (my 1 month old nephew) moved down here temporarily. Kendall and Patrick got to meet for the first time. They were adorable! Aunt Yo got quite a few pictures. We hope they can grow up together and be best of friends. Both of them are the spitting images of their fathers, as infants!

Bathtime fun...

Kendall's umbilical stump fell off this week, which meant it was time for her first bath. Up until now, she's only been sponged off and wiped down. I gathered all the necessities in the bathroom and put her in the tub. Much to my surprise, she was calm and alert. I have seen and heard such terrible bath experience stories from friends, I was expecting her first bath to be a very tragic experience. Kendall only fussed at the end, when the water was cooling off and I was lifting her out of the water to rinse her well.

Afterwards, we got to try out her new bath bag (kinda like a robe). She loved it, and it was so cute with it's little hood with ears.
